About Us

The College of Animal Welfare (CAW) was established in 1989 by a leading animal welfare charity in Cambridgeshire in the UK. Since then, the College has become an independent organisation with centres across the UK. Our purpose is to provide high-quality education and training, with animal welfare at the heart of what we do.

Our Mission and Values

Mission Statement

Providing innovative learning opportunities in pursuit of professional excellence

Values – PRIDE

  • Professionalism – To gain vital qualities and characteristics
  • Respect – To demonstrate mutual respect and tolerance for all, regardless of circumstances, faith or beliefs
  • Integrity – To value honesty and show strong moral principles
  • Diversity – To nurture togetherness, to enable all without exception and widen participation

The College of Animal Welfare is a modern provider of education in animal welfare. Our courses are widely recognised by many businesses and organisations in the UK and beyond as evidence of a good quality education. We want our students to enjoy their time with us, gain valuable qualifications and develop the skills and confidence they need for their careers.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The College of Animal Welfare recognises that animal welfare is a truly global need. We warmly welcome international students who wish to join our full time or online, distance learning courses.

We believe that education is an entitlement for all and therefore take great pride in making learning available to everyone, seeking to encourage applications from all members of the community.

No student shall be excluded from any course on the grounds of age, sex, disability, ethnic origin, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy and maternity or gender reassignment. Read more about our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
